Integrity – Part 3
Q&A – Is being tempted a sin?
Q: I have a question. In one part of a sermon it was said that thinking evil thoughts is not a sin but what you do with them and whether or not you act on them. I’m confused by this. Were you talking about ANY thoughts? Like feeling jealous of your neighbor or fantasizing about your neighbor? Please help me understand this.
I came across this in Matthew 5;28 “But here is what I tell you. Do not even look at a woman in the wrong way. Anyone who does has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
Do I sin if I have an evil thought, or only if I act on it?
p.s and for the record, I’m not fantasizing about my neighbor…..:)
Questions to ask before getting married
One of the questions I get asked a lot by folks that are dating is… What questions should I ask myself when considering marriage with the person I am dating?
I was looking through some files this week and came across a list of some great questions to ask. Some of these are appropriate and challenging to those of us that are already married too!
Integrity – Part 2
A couple of weeks ago in this post I gave this definition for integrity…
– Integrity = being a whole and complete person. Integrity is wholeness and effectiveness. Jesus wants us to be whole and live effective lives that honor Him and live lives that show others that He has radically saved and changed us.
This statement came to life for me when I was reading this passage.
Turkey Drive Update
We just finished delivering all of the turkeys and food.
Here are the stats of what we gave away…
– 597 turkeys…that is 2 times as many turkeys as we collected last year (298)…Wow!
– We had a 7’x24′ moving truck that we filled up twice with food (Thanks to Sanders Moving and Storage here in Anderson for letting us borrow the truck).
– We were able to help out 3 organizations with turkeys and other thanksgiving food items – Anderson Interfaith Ministries, The Haven of Rest, and The Anderson Soup Kitchen.
– I heard last night that Bloom and Ingles both completely ran out of turkeys yesterday and Walmart only had a handful left.
Newspring, thank you for your generosity! We were able to minister to our community in an amazing way yesterday because of how you stepped up.
Turkey Drive Sunday!
To support Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM) and our community, we are asking that everyone at NewSpring come together and donate food goods to help feed the needy of Anderson County during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Food will be collected on THIS Sunday, November 11, 2007 during church. You can drop off supplies at one of the three trailers that we will have stationed around the church. See you there!

Canned Pumkin
